Tomorrow evening, on Tuesday, July 3, Bishop Finn will offer Mass at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to pray for the preservation of religious freedom in our country, at 6:30 p.m. After Mass there will be a reception at the Catholic Center at 20 W. 9th St.
This Mass will mark the closing hours of this special time of prayer, study, catechesis and public action.
Perhaps this is the time to pause and ask ourselves what this time of prayer has meant. How have you taken advantage of this opportunity? Have you made any resolutions? Will you engage in ongoing prayers in the defense of religious liberty? Will you do any kind of public action in the coming months to follow up on the fortnight? Will you study the issues surrounding the concerns we should all have about our freedom to act according to our conscience?
Let us all take time to pray and discern God’s will about these questions.
